Shopify Data Connection Setup

Setting up a Shopify connection should only take 5-10 minutes.

There may be fees associated with setting up a new data connection. Please contact your account team to confirm pricing.

Pre-Implementation

To connect you will need administrator access in your Shopify account.

Implementation

Create a New App in Shopify


Create a new app for BUCS.        

1. Go to Settings > Apps and sales channels. Click Develop apps.


           

2. Click Create an app.

           

3. Name the app BUCS Analytics and assign yourself as the App developer. Click Create app.

4. Navigate to the Configuration tab. Find the Admin API Integration section and select Configure

        

5. Select the API scopes you want BUCS to access and click Save

At a minimum BUCS recommends providing access to read_customers, write_customers, read_draft_orders, write_draft_orders, read_fufillments, write_fulfillments, read_inventory, write_inventory, read_marketing_events, write_marketing_events, read_orders, write_orders, read_price_rules, write_price_rules, read_product_listings, write_product_listings, read_products, write_products, read_shopify_payments_payouts.

          

6. Click Install app. A confirmation message will appear. Click Install.

          

Copy API Key, Access Token and URL


Copy API values which will be entered in the BUCS Connection Wizard in a later step.

1. Navigate to the API credentials tab. Locate the API key and secret key section and copy the API key in a safe location.    

                      

2. Locate the Admin API access token section under the API credentials tab and click Reveal token onceCopy the API token in a safe location. 

              

3. Go to Settings > Domains. Locate the URL ending in my.shopify.com. Copy the full URL, adding https:// to the beginning. Example: https://[companyname].myshopify.com. 

         

Create a Shopify Connection in BUCS Platform


Create a new Shopify Connection to start integrating Shopify data in BUCS reporting.                  

1. Go to BUCS Customer Portal > Connection Management > Connection Hub. Locate or search for the Shopify connector and click Connect.

                     

2. Name your connection and click Next. The connection name should be descriptive and specific to the connection you want to establish.

       

3. Provide the API Key, API Access Token and API URL values you retained from previous setup steps. Click Save

       

4. If the connection was successfully established, you will see a message that data from Shopify is now syncing to BUCS.  If the connection was not successful, you will be asked to try again.

NOTE: If you don't see your Shopify data appear in the BUCS platform in 24 hours, please contact your account team.
