Set Up Two-Factor Authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a layer of security to your BUCS login. When 2FA is turned on, you'll need to complete a second verification step using a separate device, such as a mobile phone, to log in to your BUCS account. 2FA helps protect your account from unauthorized access, even if your password is stolen.
Turn on 2FA for your BUCS login
- Navigate to Account Settings > Two-factor Authentication.
- Click Set Up 2FA.
- Use an authenticator app to complete the setup steps on screen.
ℹ️ Download a two-factor authenticator app like Microsoft Authenticator for Android and iOS or Google Authenticator for Android and iOS.

- Open the authenticator app and scan the QR code on screen.
- You will be provided a verification code in the authenticator app. Enter that code in step 3 on the screen and click Verify.
- If a valid code is entered, you will see a message that Your authenticator app has been verified.
- 2FA will apply the next time you log in to your BUCS account.
Turn Off 2FA for you BUCS login
- Navigate to Account Settings > Two-factor Authentication.
- Click Disable 2FA.
- You'll no longer need 2FA to access your BUCS account.
