Set Up Two-Factor Authentication

 

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a layer of security to your BUCS login. When 2FA is turned on, you'll need to complete a second verification step using a separate device, such as a mobile phone, to log in to your BUCS account. 2FA helps protect your account from unauthorized access, even if your password is stolen.

Turn on 2FA for your BUCS login

  1. Navigate to Account Settings > Two-factor Authentication.
  2. Click Set Up 2FA.
  3. Use an authenticator app to complete the setup steps on screen.
    ℹ️  Download a two-factor authenticator app like Microsoft Authenticator for Android and iOS or Google Authenticator for Android and iOS.

  4. Open the authenticator app and scan the QR code on screen.
  5. You will be provided a verification code in the authenticator app. Enter that code in step 3 on the screen and click Verify.

  6. If a valid code is entered, you will see a message that Your authenticator app has been verified.
  7. 2FA will apply the next time you log in to your BUCS account.

Turn Off 2FA for you BUCS login

  1. Navigate to Account Settings > Two-factor Authentication.
  2. Click Disable 2FA.
  3. You'll no longer need 2FA to access your BUCS account.
