Data Feed Permissions
Provide individual users, or groups of users, access to specific Data Feed tables and data sources which can then be accessed via the Excel Add-in or OData Power BI connection.
This article will show you how to:
- Create Groups and Assign Data Feed Tables and Users to Those Groups

Create Groups and Assign to Data Feed Tables and Users
Data Feed Groups can be created to group like users together and quickly assign or edit permissions to a whole group of users at once. Groups should be configured based on what Data Feed tables users need to access. For example, a Sales Group might need access to the Transactions and Sales Transaction Detail tables while a Finance Group might need to access the General Ledger and Trial Balance tables.
Review the Data Feed Dictionary for a full list of available tables.
- Navigate to BUCS Customer Portal > Data Feed Management > Data Feed Permissions.
- From the Groups tab, click New Group.
- Provide Group Name, select Data Feed to permission to the Group, add Members and provide a Description for the Group. Click Add.
- The new Group will appear in the list of all Groups. Click the Edit button to assign table view permissions.
- Select the tables the group can access. Changes are automatically saved.
ℹ️ You still need to assign users data source permissions before they can view data from these tables in the Excel Add-in and Power BI.
Grant Users Access to Data Sources
- Navigate to BUCS Customer Portal > Data Feed Management > Data Feed Permissions > Users tab.
- Select the user you want to permission and click the Edit icon.
- Check the checkbox to assign the data sources the user should be able to access. Changes are automatically saved.
- Raw data from the user's Group table permissions and data sources permissions will now be available in the Excel Add-in, Power BI and other reporting tools.
Edit Groups
- To edit a group, navigate to BUCS Customer Portal > Data Feed Management > Data Feed Permissions > Groups tab.
- Click the Edit in the Action menu.
- On the Permissions tab, select/unselect table views to add/remove access. Changes are automatically saved.
- To edit which users have access to the Group, click on the Members tab.
- To add new members, click Add.
- To remove members, click the checkbox next to the user and click Remove.
- To add new members, click Add.
- To edit the Group name or description, click the Settings tab.
- Update the Name or Description and then click Save.
- Update the Name or Description and then click Save.
Delete Groups
⚠️Deleting a Group affects all users within the Group and the action cannot be undone.- To edit a group, navigate to BUCS Customer Portal > Data Feed Management > Data Feed Permissions > Groups tab. Click the Delete in the Action menu.
- You can also Delete a Group from the Settings tab.
Edit User Permissions
- Navigate to BUCS Customer Portal > Data Feed Management > Data Feed Permissions > Users tab.
- Select the user you want to edit and click the Edit icon.
- Check/Uncheck the checkboxes to assign/remove the data sources the user should be able to access. Changes are automatically saved.
- To edit which groups and tables views the user can access, click the Member Of tab.
- Check/Uncheck the checkboxes to assign/remove access to the groups the user should be included in. Changes are automatically saved.
