ComputerEase Data Connection Setup

Setting up a ComputerEase connection should only take 5-10 minutes.

There may be fees associated with setting up a new data connection. Please contact your account team to confirm pricing.

Pre-Implementation

To connect you will need the BUCS Remote Agent (64-bit) installed on the machine where your ComputerEase data is located. Remote Agent installation instructions can be accessed here.

Implementation

If ODBC Driver is already set up skip to step 6.

  1. Log into ComputerEase and navigate to the Help menu and select “About”.
  2.  In the About window copy the address for “Network Installed From:".
  3.  Copy this address into a Windows Explorer folder address bar.
  4. Open up the ODBC folder and double click on “Setup”.
  5. In the ODBC Setup window that appears select “Install ODBC driver and add/update User DSNs". Then open up the setup application again and select “Add/Update System DSN". 
  6. Open the Start menu and type “ODBC”. Select “ODBC Data Sources (64-bit)” and then navigate to the “System DSN” tab. Find the System Data Source Name (DSN) you want to connect to and write that information down.
  7. Provide the ComputerEase Username, Password and the DSN to your BUCS account manager.
