BUCS Remote Agent Troubleshooting
If the BUCS Remote Agent installed in your network is not functioning properly, it can prevent BUCS from accessing your on-premises data sources. This article provides quick troubleshooting steps to help you restore service. By confirming the agent is set to start automatically, adjusting recovery settings, and restarting the service, you can often resolve the most common issues without additional support.
Follow the steps below to check the agent’s configuration and restart.
Step 1: Open Services
On the machine where the BUCSconnect Remote agent is installed, in the Windows search bar, type Services and select it from the results.
Step 2: Locate the BUCS Remote Agent
- In the Services list, find BUCSconnect Remote Agent.
- Right-click the service and select Properties.
Step 3: Confirm Startup Type
- Under the General tab, check the Startup type setting.
- Ensure it is set to Automatic.
Step 4: Update Recovery Settings
- Switch to the Recovery tab.
- For First failure, Second failure, and Subsequent failures, change the dropdowns from Take No Action to Restart the Service.
Step 5: Apply Changes
- Click Apply, then click OK to save your changes.
Step 6: Restart the Agent
- Right-click BUCS Remote Agent again.
